Mount Revolution WA
July 23rd, 2023
Hi, we are the Mountain Goats and today we climbed Revolution Peak. We previously attempted Revolution Peak on June 19th but couldn't summit due to snow conditions.
We started around 7 AM and took the Granite Lake/Thompson Lake trail is fine like always, although the Thompson Lake trail is starting to get overgrown. At around 4,000' you split off from the Thompson Lake trail and head towards the ridgeline. Following the old forest trail, you go through marshy land and overgrown underbrush while heading toward the demolished cabin.

At the cabin
Nice spot to sit
The cabin sits at 5,000' and offers great views of Mt Ranier and the surrounding mountains. From here you follow the trail another 500' to a group of benches here the trail ends. A climber's trail starts here and follows the ride to the summit. The trail is a bit hard to follow but besides a class 3 move here and there, the trail isn't too bad. Overall, it took us around 3:30 to get from the trailhead to the summit. The summit itself has magnificent views of Glacier, Ranier and the Snoqualmie Pass Mountains.

Summit with Ranier hulking behind me
The trip down was straight forward and it took just around 2:30 minutes.
Overall, this is a great hike of I 90 and a more enjoyable training hike than other options like Mt Tenerife and others.
