We are the little Mountain goats (Terrence 16) and today we climbed Snoqualmie Mountain.

This would be my 3rd time climbing Snoqualmie Mountain and my first time climbing it in a few years. The trail up to the falls is pretty straightforward, after around 25 minutes you break out of the trees. Be careful here as finding the trail is tricky. The trail is towards the river, if your on the snowfield your off the trail. I took the snowfield up and hit the trail at the top under the nearby cliffs. From there it's only 20 minutes to the falls. Crossing the falls right now is pretty tough, there's probably twice as much water as there usually is, but it's still very doable.

After the falls is probably the worst part of the climb, you go straight up through the snow and the trees, the snow here in icy and slippery and always a pain, microspikes are mandatory for this part. After around 500 vertical feet you break out of the trees into the open. Finding the trail hear is difficult on the way up I went through the snow path which was off the trail, the actual trail is left of it and goes through skree. After another 300-500 vertical feet you reach the top the hill and are finally able to the the summit, or false summits. From here you begin zigzagging your way across the ridge towards the false summits. Once you reach the top your at around 6000 feet so you only have a little bit to go. From here you take a left a cut through the trees towards the summit, after around 10 minutes of going through trees and skree and pop out on top of the ridge, now you can finally see the true summit which is to the left. The trail descends into the trees and towards the summit, and after about 5 minutes your hit the summit. Today there were great views of mount Rainier, Mt Baker and all the nearby mountains. I took me around 4 hours to summit going at a pretty slow pace.

After staying on the summit for 45 minutes I began to descend down. By staying on the trail i was able to get to the trailhead in sub 2 hours without microspikes. From Trailhead to trailhead it took me around 7 hours. Overall Snoqualmie is a very doable hike right now, the hardest part is staying on the trail, and the condition of the snow. Make sure to bring Microspikes and an ice axe.

Final Stats: 3.19 MI, 6,278'  Feet, 3000' Elev gain, 7 Hours Car to Car
